About Meadowdrama

Meadowdrama is a humorous comic strip about two very different characters who live next to each other in the meadow.  One is a mean rock who likes to make fun of the other, a sweet flower.  The flower remains nice and tries to teach the rock about the wonders of nature.  As they talk and argue, they start to understand themselves and each other better.  The books show the importance of treating our neighbors with kindness, even if they are different.  The simple graphic keeps our focus on their dialog.  Readers will see these characters struggle to find common ground in this story which is; sometimes sad, sometimes serious, and sometimes silly… just like us!

About The Graphics

Most of the comments I get about my comic are about the drawing: you should make it color; move the sun around; or, you should make it rainy, cloudy, windy; or, have a bug in there; WHY DOESN’T IT EVER CHANGE?! The world of meadowdrama is simple, rigid, and colorless. Why? This comic is about the words, it’s about what they think and what they say. There may be some small changes in the future, but I don’t see big changes without big motivation.

About The Author

b

I was born in Elmira N.Y., and grew up in a rural area near the town of Big Flats. I graduated from Horseheads High School and enlisted in the Air Force. When I got out I hitchhiked from Spokane across WA state to Sequim on a Friday in June. That weekend I met a guy that knew a guy, and started working for Olympic National Park the following Monday. I retired after 44 years of public service.

For those who are wondering; being a rock or a flower would be one thing, I’m both which leads to some heated discussions. The rock has roamed free in my head as long as I can remember, loud and obnoxious, outside my head I try to be a flower, but I still have to listen to them argue more than I want to.
